indonesian fish stew
4 large steaks of shark (thawed)
seasoned flour
3 tbs olive oil1 tsp each mustard seeds turmeric fenugreek and cumin
50g ginger root peeled and finely sliced
3 cloves of garlic finely sliced
2 onions finely sliced
2 green peppers cored seeded and sliced
675g new potatoes
225g mushrooms sliced
Cut away the black skin from the steaks and cut the flesh into 5cm (2in) square pieces
Turn them in seasoned flour
heat the oil m a large casserole and throw in the spices
Let them fry for a moment then add the fish
turn the fish in the oil and the spices and then add 1.25 l of water and all the vegetables
Bring to the boil and simmer for 50 to 60 minutes
Give a good stir and adjust the seasoning
Serve with onions reblochon cheese and the salad below.
