Company Casserole
1 1/4 ounds lean ground beef
1 clove garlic, chopped fine
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 ounces cream cheese
8 ounces sour cream
1/2 medium onion, chopped fine
8 ounces egg noodles (or fettucine)
1/2 cup grated cheese (such as cheddar)
1. Brown meat, breaking up clumps. Add garlic, tomato
sauce, sugar and salt. Simmer 30 to 45 minutes. Set aside.
2. Cream together cream cheese, sour cream, and onion. Set aside.
3. Cook noodles according to package directions; drain.
4. In baking dish, layer half the noodles, half the
beef mixture and half the cream-cheese mixture. Repeat. Sprinkle
grated cheese on top of casserole.
5. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 to 45
minutes, until top is golden brown and casserole is heated through.
Makes 6 to 8 servings
