1/2 cup unsalted butter
5 ounces unsweetened chocolate
4 large eggs — at room temperature
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups packed dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup broken pecan meats
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Melt chocolate and butter over low heat. Set aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Beat eggs and salt until light in color and foamy in texture.
Beat in brown sugar and vanilla until mixture is well creamed.
Combine with cooled chocolate mixture (do this by hand).
Before mixture is uniformly colored, fold in the flour. Before flour is
uniformly mixed in, add pecan meats and semi-sweet chocolate morsels.
Spread batter in a greased 13-inch x 9-inch pan.
Bake about 25 minutes.
Cool before cutting.
