Ingredients / Directions
2 yellow onions
1 tbsp butter
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can sauerkraut
1/4 cup(s) water
1 teaspoon cumin
4 thick slices Canadian bacon,about 1 lb.
3 tbsp parsley finely chopped Peel onion. Cut into wedges. In a skillet
melt butter. Add onion. Saute
stirring
over medium heat until soft and lightly browned. Transfer onion to a heavy pan. Add sauerkraut
water and cumin. Bring to a boil. Cover. Cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes. In a skillet
quickly brown Canadian bacon. Transfer to pan with sauerkraut. Bring to a boil again. Cook
covered
for another 6 to 8 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve immediately.
Served with: Boiled potatoes
