golden cheese pudding
six slices thick sliced wholemeal bread
1oz margarine
6oz mature Cheddar cheese grated
one pint milk
three eggs size three
one tablespn whokgrain mustard
freshly grated nutmeg
salt and freshly ground black pepper
Cut the crusts off the bread then spread the slices with sunflower margarine. Sandwich together with most of the cheese.
Press firmly together then cut into quarters
Whisk the milk eggs and mustard together.
Season generously with nutmeg salt and pepper.
Arrange the cheese sandwiches in a well buttered dish.
Pour over the egg and milk mixture and sprinkle over the remaining cheese.
Bake in the oven at 180 deg.C 350 deg.F gas mark four for about one hour or until golden and set.
Serve with a mixed salad
