l00g popcorn not the type sold for microwaves

1 tbsp vegetable oil

2 ozlSOg butter

68 fbsp golden syrup

In a basin put the butter and measure in the golden syrup.

Stand it on top of the aga to melt the butter. In a large lidded saucepan heat the oil until smoking hot.

Quickly tip in the popcorn put on the lid immediately.

Shake the pan and wait until the corn has finished popping.

Do not lift the lid before or the kitchen will be covered in popcorn.

Remove from the heat and pour over the syrup and butter mixture.

Toss well and serve.

Alternatively the corn can be tossed in sea salt or plain sugar.

Make a batch and serve in paper cones to eat round the bonfire.
