600g puffed rice
1 large onion chopped finely
300g potatoes boiled peeled and cubed
300g chiwda (qv) or shop bought Bombay mix
6 tablespoons corrander leaves chopped
4 tablespoons of unripe mango peeled and chopped finely (optional)
150ml sweet tamarind chutney (qv Meethi Chutney)
150ml onion chutneyy (qv Piyaz ki Chutney)
salt
Mix all the ingredients together varying the amounts of chutneys according to taste.
Make up small quantities of the mixture as required as it becomes soggy with keeping.
This dish depends entirely on your own preferences so feel free to adjust the quantities of any of the components.
Sold on nearly every street comer of Bombay. It consists of several individual ingredients that give it its sweet salty tangy and hot tastes.
