l teaspoon five spice powder
Heat a wok or frying pan until it is hot.
Then add the salt and stir fry for a minute or so until it is quite hot.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the five suice powder.
Mix well and allow to cool then put the mixture in a sealed jar until needed.
This dipping mixture is similar to the Sichuan peppercorn and salt mixture but has the distinctive fragrance of five spice powder. It is best served with fried meat like chicken and pigeon or fried fish.
