chocolate brownies
175g selfraising flour
2 heaped tbsp cocoa powder
175g golden caster sugar
5 tbsp sunflower oil
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
Grease an 18cm square baking tin.
Sift the flour and cocoa directly into the tin add the sugar a pinch of salt and stir.
Mark three grooves in the mixture.
Pour the oil into one groove lemon juice into another and the vanilla into the third.
Pour over 225ml cold water.
Stir until well mixed ensuring you get into the corners.
Bake at 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4 for
about 20 minutes remove to a wire rack cut into 12 squares and cool in the tin before turning out.
Makes 18 brownies
