Chocolate Sheet Cake
In a medium size saucepan combine:
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa
Cook until mixture begins to boil. Remove from heat & pour the
mixture over:
2 cups flour (plain)
2 cups sugar
Mix until well blended and then add:
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Beat well & pour into a greased & floured 11 by 16 pan. Bake 20
minutes at 400 degrees.
Frosting
Stirring constantly, cook until boiling point:
1 stick unsalted butter
4 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons milk
Remove from heat & add:
1 pound powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Beat well and add:
1 cup walnuts
Do not begin to make the frosting until cake comes out of oven as the
frosting must be poured over cake while frosting is very hot. Spread
frosting over entire surface of cake. This cake is very good but also
